May 25th was World Thyroid Day, with the aim of this date to inform and raise awareness about diseases related to the thyroid glands.
The thyroid is a small gland located at the base of the neck, responsible for the production of thyroid hormones, where they play a crucial role in regulating the body's metabolism.
It is important to highlight the importance of early diagnosis, followed by appropriate treatment, if a disease is identified, such as hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, which can significantly affect the body's metabolism. It is essential that people are aware of signs and symptoms of possible thyroid problems such as fatigue, unexplained weight gain or loss, concentration problems, among others.
To avoid these health problems, we reinforce the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle habits, with a balanced diet, physical exercise, among others.
