The flu vaccine is available from today, September 28, and will start to be administered in the population groups considered priority, such as residents of nursing homes and pregnant women.
The National Health Service (SNS) vaccination campaign, which usually starts on October 15, starts earlier this year, with a first phase for which there are 350 thousand vaccines.
Residents in nursing homes, health professionals, professionals in the social sector who provide care and pregnant women are among the most vulnerable sectors and will be the first to be able to be vaccinated.
In the second phase, which will begin on October 19, other risk groups are included, such as people aged 65 and over and people with chronic diseases.
In addition to free vaccines for people included in risk groups, there will be vaccines for sale in pharmacies that can be purchased with a prescription and are reimbursed.
