PMH Green. Expansion of photovoltaic production at the Samora Correia Manufacturing Unit: A Sustainable Milestone for PMH
PMH is pleased to announce an important milestone in our commitment to sustainability and responsible growth. Combined with our PMH Green project, the Samora Correia manufacturing unit, which currently operates with an energy production capacity of 80kW, will undergo a significant expansion, doubling its capacity to 160kW. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, aligning us with global goals of reducing CO2 emissions and energy efficiency.
This increase in capacity puts the Samora Correia unit in line with our Penafiel manufacturing unit, which already operates with 158kW of installed capacity. The combination of these two units places PMH at the forefront of the sector, in terms of efficiency and carbon footprint reduction, while boosting its production capacity.
Environmental Impact: Reduction of CO2 Emissions
With the increase in renewable energy production in Samora Correia, we estimate a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions over the next few years. Considering that the production of clean energy avoids dependence on fossil sources and contributes to the decarbonization of our activity, the environmental benefits of this project are clear.
CO2 Reduction Indicators:
- New capacity in Samora Correia: 160kW
- Total renewable energy capacity (Samora Correia + Penafiel): 318kW
- Estimated reduction in CO2: The doubling of energy capacity in Samora Correia, combined with production in Penafiel, should allow a combined reduction of around 6.7 tons of CO2 per month. Resulting in 807 tons of C02 reduction over a period of 10 years.
- Due to our path of energy excellence, PMH has already achieved an accumulated reduction of 278 tons of CO2 derived directly from the photovoltaic production project since 2017.
This expansion will not only increase PMH's clean energy production capacity, but will also enable it to meet its stringent environmental objectives, ensuring long-term sustainability and reinforcing its position as a leader in responsible business practices.
PMH is committed to sharing its progress on this sustainable journey.
